Australian miner Ramelius Resources said the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety gave its mining proposal for the Cue gold project in Western Australia the greenlight.
Early works is expected to commence this month.
Acquired by Ramelius in September 2023 from Musgrave Minerals, Cue is located 40 kilometres north of the Checkers Mill at Ramelius’ Mt Magnet gold mine. According to the pre-feasibility study, the project has a total mineral resource of 12 million tonnes at 2.4 g/t of gold for 910,000 ounces.
“The Cue project will deliver ore to the Mt Magnet hub in parallel with the Penny high grade ore. This high margin combination will deliver significant returns with our cash balance already exceeding A$500 million. Additional underground potential still remains at both Cue and Penny,” said Managing Director Mark Zeptner.
The mining method at Cue will be open pit, utilising conventional drill and blast where required and excavator load and haul operations.
Ramelius owns and operates the Mt Magnet, Edna May, Marda, Tampia, Symes and Penny gold mines, all of which are located in Western Australia.
